Totally Doctor Who was a children's programme originally airing on BBC One at 5:00pm on Thursdays, and repeated at 6:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays on CBBC.

The first programme ran concurrently with the second series of Doctor Who. It included interviews with guests in the studio, behind-the-scene footage, preview and reviews of episodes, fan mail, trivia challenge and a reality-show segment, the Companion Academy. The show's presenters were Liz Barker and Barney Harwood.

For series two (series three of Doctor Who), the series moved to a new timeslot of 5:00pm on Friday afternoons. The studio relocated to the Doctor Who lot in Cardiff and filmed at the same time.

Barney Harwood remained to co-host the series, this time with Kirsten O’Brien replacing Liz Barker. Several items, such as “Who-ru”, the filing cabinet and Companion Academy were dropped, replaced by weekly challenge Team Totally and audience competition Who Goes There?

The series also introduced a specially-made cartoon serial entitled The Infinite Quest, which starred David Tennant and Freema Agyemann as the Doctor and Martha. It was broadcast as 13 3-minute episodes across the series.
